March is one of the major months for the announcement of new camera products. With the arrival of spring, there will be more opportunities to take photos, so new products are introduced at this time with great anticipation. What new products are expected to be announced by each company in March? I will make a prediction focusing on interchangeable lens digital cameras. Canon will make an official announcement or development announcement of the EOS R5 Mark II. The R5 Mark II will not be just a minor change to the EOS R5, but will be a big leap forward. The number of pixels will be increased from the current 45 million pixels, but I think it will be about 50 million pixels. There is also a possibility of a back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor. The video function will be significantly enhanced, including 8K60p. My personal point of interest is what will be done with the recording media. Will it be a double slot for CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II like the EOS R5? I have a feeling that this will change somehow. Of course, the main one will be CFexpress Type B, but attention will be focused on what will be done with the other recording media. Could there be a double slot for Type B? Sony is said to be releasing a full-frame E-mount mirrorless camera in the VLOGGERCAM ZV series. A successor to the α7C is also possible. I think the successor to the α9II will come a little later. Nikon is wondering if the rumored Z8 and Z 6III will be announced within March. It is likely that they will wait a little longer to see what happens with the Z f, the full-frame version of the Z fc. Fujifilm will make the GFX series 150 megapixels. They may also release a new model in the X-Pro series. Although it has a fixed lens, a successor to the X100V is also expected. Panasonic will review the entire S series, as the LUMIX S5II got off to a good start. The Micro Four Thirds GH series will also be renewed. OMDS may finally announce the rumored OM-3 (or OM-2). It is a Micro Four Thirds camera that is cheaper than the OM-1, while having the image sensor and image processing engine of the OM-1. Ricoh Imaging is likely to release a successor to the K-1 II soon. Also, although it has a fixed lens, the GR series is expected to be renewed. Sigma seems to be behind schedule in the development of the full-size Foveon X3 sensor, so it is unlikely that they will release a camera anytime soon. It is unlikely that all of the models listed above will be announced in March, but it is likely that more than half of them will be announced in the first half of this year.
