It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jumpy chain link in the upper chain. However, the code won't appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
Testing is a bit tricky as there are two different connector pins and they perform different functions but the most effective method to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is functional, it should read about 1000 ohms. If you're having issues with this sensor, look for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll, I experienced a big cut in power like the engine is out of gas or the injectors are not firing anymore. This morning i pull out the spark plugs. Three were drenched with gazoline the fourth was dry. When I start the engine, there are no sparks, I put a piece of tissue on the top of each of the injector holes and the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th one stays closed. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found 0ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is in another place.
I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car will start when the G28 is not plugged in and it runs perfectly when it is connected however it has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when it is unplugged, shows an ice temperature of -49c. Also, i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit is showing 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.
I'm not certain what to do, i think i've pretty much completely ruled out all other possibilities. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal sent by the RPM sensor.
